Many 76ers fans love having a handful of young big men. That is until you ask them who will start by game one? The 76ers have equipped their team with three potential rookie of the year candidates and they all are apart of the Sixers front-court. Jahlil Okafor was in the rookie of the year race in 2015-2016, but the Sixers have tried to speed up their offense, and their team cannot sit the number one player in the 2016 NBA Draft. The Mr. Ben Simmons is an automatic starter, and he will start at the power forward position. Brett Brown has created speculation by saying Ben Simmons could possibly start at the point guard position. These were quotes from Brent Brown back in early July.

“He would be all over the place,” Browns said, perScott Howard-Cooper of NBA.com. “It seems quite reckless to do it, almost unfair. I hope to continue to be ambitiously creative at tapping into what he really can do, and in my heart of hearts I think he can do it.

“When I say point guard I mean point guard. You’ve got the ball. You could call him Isiah Thomas, the old Isiah Thomas of my generation. You could call him Chris Paul. I mean point guard point guard. There are times I think that he can be a point guard.”

The Sixers have failed to acquire a true point guard over the last two years. They traded Michael Carter-Williams, Ish Smith, and picked up Jared Bayless. Jared Bayless will likely start at the point guard position. Three-Point shooter, Robert Covington, will likely start at the shooting guard position. Dario Saric, recently signed with the Sixers. There were reports that Dario Saric was upset with the front office, if he was signed as a backup. Saric may be able to start at the small forward position, because of his tremendous athleticism and length. The center position will likely be filled by either Jahlil Okafor or Joel Embiid. Joel Embiid’s minutes will be limited due to his health problems, but at the same time Jahlil Okafor may slow down the young, fast-paced offense. If Ben Simmons was to start at point guard, Nerlens Noel will likely start at the power forward position. On the contrary, if Ben Simmons starts at power forward Jahlil Okafor and Nerlens Noel will likely come off of the bench. Many different starting lineups will be seen as the season progresses.
