Before the season officially started the Panthers won their annual tip-off tournament. At the tournament, they beat Central High School (Philadelphia) and Newark (Delaware). Cheltenham Panthers opened up their regular season against the Archbishop Carroll Patriots. The Panthers played well, and even had the lead against Carroll, but they ended up losing by 5 points in the 71-66 loss. The Panthers made up for the loss with a conference win against the Springfield Spartans the next night. Cheltenham put up a a flashy and dominating performance all game and won by 20. The final score was 69-49. A strong showcase from all of Cheltenham’s starters make them a threat in their conference. They will face off against the Upper Moreland Bears on Tuesday after they comeback from a blowout loss on December 16th.
