The Cheltenham Panthers lost to Plymouth Whitemarsh High School on Friday night. The Whitemarsh Colonials don’t necessarily have a better team, but they had the upper hand on Friday night and finished off the Panthers with a final score of 74-59.
Whenever the Panthers head to Plymouth Whitemarsh, it is an intense game in a hostile environment. There is always controversy with the officiating, because it seems that the games always seem to be called one-sided. The Panthers were already without their starting shooting guard, Tim Spencer, and they came into the game expecting foul trouble due to a history with officiating during their rivalry games. Cheltenham’s Trevonn Pitts was called on two early fouls then sat for most of the first half. He eventually fouled with over two minutes left in the 4th quarter. Jack Clark dropped 19 points, and Rodney Carson scored 17 points. Ahmad Bickley and Tim Myarick also played great games.
